Michele returned to Ready Funeral Home in 2002 after spending eight years in Boston working in the financial services industry. She is the daughter of the late Bill Ready and granddaughter of the late George Ready, proudly carrying on the family's tradition as the third generation of the Ready family to serve in funeral service.

Born and raised in South Burlington, Michele graduated from South Burlington High School in 1991 and earned her Bachelor's degree in Business. She became a licensed funeral director in 2007 and has since dedicated herself to helping families navigate some of life's most difficult moments with compassion, professionalism, and a commitment to personalized care.

Michele and her husband, John, have three children. Their twins, Gabriella and Jack, have both graduated from college, and their youngest, Sydnee, is a senior at the College of the Holy Cross. As their children have grown, Michele and John have remained deeply committed to the Burlington community they call home.

In addition to her work at Ready Funeral Home, Michele and John are the owners of The Archives Bar in downtown Burlington, reflecting their shared belief in creating spaces that bring people together—whether to celebrate, remember, or simply enjoy each other's company. Their commitment to Burlington extends beyond business ownership and is rooted in a genuine desire to contribute to the vibrancy and well-being of the community they have served for generations.

In her free time, Michele enjoys spending time with family and friends at the lake, traveling, and visiting her children whenever she gets the chance. She is honored to continue the Ready family's longstanding tradition of service and is proud to help families celebrate lives well lived while providing comfort and guidance during times of loss.

John joined Ready Funeral Home in 2003 after spending many years in the financial services industry in Boston. A graduate of St. Michael's College, he earned his Bachelor's Degree in 1993.   Drawn by a desire to serve families in a more personal and meaningful way, John made the decision to join the Ready family business and has been a valued member of the team ever since.

John became a licensed funeral director in 2007 and is also a CANA Certified Crematory Operator. Over the years, he has developed a reputation for his steady presence, compassion, and commitment to helping families through difficult times with dignity and care.

John and his wife, Michele, have three children. Their twins, Gabriella and Jack, have both graduated from college, and their youngest, Sydnee, is a senior at the College of the Holy Cross. As longtime residents of South Burlington, John and Michele are deeply committed to the Burlington community and are proud to serve families both through Ready Funeral Home and as owners of The Archives Bar in downtown Burlington.

Outside of work, John enjoys spending time outdoors boating, and relaxing at the lake with family and friends. An avid sports fan, he spent many years coaching his children's baseball and basketball teams and now enjoys traveling and supporting them in their careers and pursuits. John has a deep respect for his late father-in-law, Bill Ready, and is honored to continue the tradition of service, compassion, and community commitment that has been the hallmark of Ready Funeral Home for generations.

Born and raised in Vermont, Stephen spent most of his life in Winooski and attended school there through his senior year. He graduated with a perfect GPA before continuing his education at the Community College of Vermont and Johnson State College, where he earned an associate degree in criminal justice and a bachelor’s degree in business.

Stephen has always been committed to helping others. For more than five years, he served as a dispatcher for the Vermont State Police, where he built a strong foundation of service and developed a lasting commitment to supporting his community.

That same commitment led Stephen to join Ready Funeral Home in June 2026, where he now serves as an apprentice while working toward becoming a licensed funeral director. After losing both of his parents in 2018, he developed a deep sense of empathy, compassion, and determination to support families as they navigate the loss of a loved one.

Outside of his professional life, Stephen is deeply devoted to his family and cherishes spending time with his wife, Kaitlyn, and their five children. He also enjoys coaching football, being outdoors, and following the Philadelphia Eagles as a devoted fan. In addition, he and his wife have been exploring their faith and considering attending church together as a family.

In quieter moments, especially on long car rides, Stephen enjoys listening to country artists such as Tayler Holder, Luke Combs, Ryan Jesse, and Chase Wright. He also likes listening to Stephen King audiobooks and sermons by Pastor Michael Todd.

Donald Dukette

Donald Dukette has been part of the UVM Medical Center for almost 25 years and counting. During that time he has lovingly helped hundreds of family navigate the grieving process but he always wanted to provide a little more, so in 2021 he became part of the Ready Family.  Here he can lend an ear or a shoulder to cry on while helping a family navigate some of their hardest decisions.

Donald is a father of three wonderful young children and husband to Bethany, a very understanding and  loving wife who understands his passion for helping people.  Donald is native of Vermont growing up in the New North End and finally growing his family in the Milton/Fairfax communities. Although he has very little time for hobbies he does find time to enjoy watching his children grow in sports, he tries to garden, he enjoys the private time hunting with his son and occasionally going for a ride on his snowmobile.

We are thrilled to have Donald as part of the Ready Family!
